One of the most beautiful and thoughtfully-designed kitchens devised entirely by my ever-talented clients, the only thing I needed to add was the roman shades and a couple of accessories.
Furnishing this space involved selecting family and pet-friendly upholstery, a unique wool and silk rug and coordinated accessories for the bookcases. The custom roman shades reflect the colors of those in the adjoining kitchen but have a more sober personality.
Outfitting this living room was great fun. The taupe viscose rug and off-white sofa were the spring boards for the rest of the décor. Two wood-framed chairs were upholstered in an antiqued velvet and adorned with bolster pillows in a fuscia Beacon Hill silk. The bookcase was treated to a Kravet metallic-woven wallpaper and outfitted with an abundance of special and meaningful objects. There was no prettier light fixture than that from Curry and Company with floor and table lamps rounding out its glow. By far, the favorite aspect of this room is the window treatments. The semi-sheer linen roman shades have a hand-made, delicate look without being fussy. Flanking them are drapery panels in a thick and rich Ralph Lauren taupe fabric with gold-embroidered leaves.
The client devised another great space in the master bathroom. The cut velvet cushion on the acrylic base provide a helpful perch.
